Chlorothalonil, also known as 2,4,5,6-tetrachloro-1,3-phthalonitrile, is a broad-spectrum protective fungicide with the molecular formula of c8cl4n2. Chlorothalonil can interact with glyceraldehyde triphosphate dehydrogenase in fungal cells and combine with cysteine containing protein in the enzyme, thus destroying the enzyme activity and destroying the metabolism of fungal cells. Chlorothalonil has no effect of internal absorption and conduction, but after spraying on plants, it can have good adhesion on the body surface, and is not easy to be washed away by rain, so the efficacy period is longer.
